Proper identification and quality control is essential in the recycling process. To confirm both the identity and quality level of received materials, IESR provides rapid, highly accurate chemical analyses using the following equipment:

• Gas Chromatograph
• Fourier-Transform Infrared Detector (FT-IR)
• Mass Spectrometer
• Gas-specific hydride detectors

Using commercial and proprietary databases, IESR has compiled an extensive custom library of both infrared and mass spectrometer data. These libraries permit very rapid positive identification of most gases, including most exotic species.

For situations involving unknowns, IESR can provide cylinder owners with certified sampling containers and detailed sampling and shipping instructions. As an option, we can also dispatch a sampling team to perform the sampling function and in situations involving large numbers of unknowns, we can deploy one of our mobile laboratories. Using the mobile laboratory allows us to sample and analyze many cylinders at the owner's site to eliminate the need and cost of transporting sample cylinders.
